Privacy Policy
Morris Labs is a personal site. It is built as static pages and served from Cloudflare's edge network. The short version: there are no accounts, no advertising banners, and no analytics of my own. Two things do touch personal information: an affiliate-link script from a third-party provider, and the SMS program. Both are described below.
What is collected
Nothing is collected by this site directly. Like any web server, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives the standard request metadata needed to serve a page — your IP address, user agent, the URL requested, and the time of the request — and may keep short-lived operational logs for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. I do not use those logs to identify or profile individual visitors. Cloudflare's own handling of that data is described in itsprivacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies of its own. The affiliate-link script described below may set cookies or use local storage to attribute a purchase you make on a partner site to a link on this one. Beyond that, nothing is stored in your browser except the ordinary cache of the pages and assets you load.
Affiliate links
Pages on this site load a script from Travelpayouts, an affiliate network. That script may convert some outbound links into affiliate links, so that if you click through and buy something, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. To do that, the script may record the click, the page it came from, and standard request metadata such as your IP address and user agent, and may set cookies on this domain or on the partner's. I do not receive anything that identifies you personally. Travelpayouts' handling of that data is described in itsprivacy policy. Blocking third-party scripts in your browser prevents the script from loading and does not affect the rest of the site.
Fonts and assets
Fonts, images, and this site's own scripts are served from this domain. Apart from the affiliate script above, no requests are made to third-party font, analytics, or advertising services when you load a page.
SMS and text messaging (Alfred)
Morris Labs runs Alfred, a private text-message assistant, for a small number of people who have individually opted in. It is a two-way conversational service: you text Alfred a request, such as recording a task, checking a to-do list, or asking a question, and Alfred texts back a reply or confirmation. Alfred also sends messages on its own only when you have asked for them, such as scheduled reminders and task summaries. No marketing, promotional, or third-party content is ever sent.
How consent is collected. Consent is collected directly by Morris Labs, either verbally (you are read a consent script and say yes) or in writing, and is never obtained through a third party. Your number is added to the service's allowlist only after you explicitly agree. We keep a consent log recording your mobile number, the date and time you consented, and how consent was given.
What is collected and how it is used. To operate Alfred we collect your mobile phone number, your consent record, and the content of the messages you exchange with Alfred, including any tasks, lists, reminders, and questions you send it. That content is used only to provide the service to you: to understand your requests, keep the lists and reminders you ask for, and generate replies. Messages are delivered through our messaging platform (Twilio) and your mobile carrier, and message content is processed by the automated systems that generate Alfred's replies, including an AI model provider. Those providers process the data only to deliver the service, not for their own marketing.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The affiliate-link script described above has no access to your phone number, consent records, or any SMS data.
Retention and deletion. Your messages and the items you ask Alfred to keep are retained for as long as you use the service, so Alfred can refer back to them. When you opt out, your number is removed from the allowlist and no further messages are sent. You can ask for your number and all associated data to be deleted at any time by emailinghello@morris-labs.dev.
Frequency, rates, and opting out. Message frequency varies, and depends on how often you text Alfred and which reminders you set. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and get help by replying HELP or emailing the address above. Full program terms are in theSMS Terms section of the Terms of Use.
If you email me, I will keep the message for as long as it is useful to reply, and I will not share your address with anyone or add it to any list.
